The focus of pediatric dentistry is on prevention. Tooth decay is much more prevalent in children than adults, so being vigilant about their regular exams is important.

The first visit should happen between the ages of 1 and 3 years, and continue at six month intervals. The Centennial dentists will advise you about your child’s diet, sugar intake, and the importance of fluoride sources.

Talk to your child about what will happen at the dentist’s office before the visit, maybe practice the “open wide” part. Try to make it a morning appointment, when your child is less likely to be tired or cranky.
